Washing your face is a task that seems so simple yet it is so complex. It is highly important to wash your face according to your skin type as it can either make or break your skin-care routine. Below are a few examples of how to wash your face accordingly.
Oily Skin
Out of all skin types, oily skin is more prone to acne because of the oils that are produced, by the skin, when your pores are blocked. These blocked pores can lead to the build-up of acne-causing bacteria. So washing your face properly is crucial for healthy-looking skin. Here are a few tips on how you can do so.
• Do your skin-care routine twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, before going to bed. It’s important to wash your face at night as it can remove all dirt that the skin on your face accumulated throughout the day.
• Use a mild gentle face wash, as using a strong one could irritate your skin and trigger an increase in oil production.
• Do your skin-care routine twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, before going to bed. It’s important to wash your face at night as it can remove all dirt that the skin on your face accumulated throughout the day.
• Exfoliate your skin by using a face scrub. Oily skin can benefit from exfoliation because it helps remove dead skin cells that build up on the surface of your skin.
Dry Skin
Washing your face when you have dry skin isn’t very simple, as you need to look for the correct products because the wrong ones could leave your skin drier than before. Here’s a few tips on how to wash your face if you have dry skin.
• It’s best to wash your face once a day as too much washing can lead your skin to dry out. However I do recommend doing a light wash in the morning and another at night just so that your skin remains clean and there is no dirt and bacteria building up beneath the surface. Remember even though oily skin is more prone to acne there is still a chance that dry skin can get acne if it has bacteria and dirt.
• Look for the correct face wash, one that suits your skin type. You can also try hydrating cleansers.
• Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize! It is highly important to find the perfect moisturizer for your dry skin. Make sure the moisturizer you choose is light weight and doesn’t leave your face feeling tight and sticky. Finding a good moisturizer can be the best thing for your skin.
Normal/Combination skin
Also known as balanced skin. The sebum and moisture in the skin are balanced and the skin is neither too oily nor too dry. Here are a few simple tips on how to wash your normal/combination skin;
• Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
• Use warm water to wash your face as using hot water can damage the sebum.
• It’s important to use a gentle cleanser, try using one that’s mattifying to your T-zone without drying out your cheeks.
Yeyyy! You’ve made it to the end of my blog post so here’s three secret bonus tips just for you, for all skin types.
• Wash your hands before washing your face.
It is highly important to wash your hands before washing your face as your hands carry a number of different germs, oils and bacteria from different surfaces.
• Make sure the water you use to wash your face isn’t too hot or too cold. Luke warm water is the best.
• Make sure to wash the pillow case you sleep on every week, or switch it every week, as it can also accumulate dirt and bacteria and by sleeping on it every night without washing it can cause 3those germs to find its way onto your skin.
I hope these tips help with your skin-care routine..
