If you follow me on Instagram, (@mis_nessah) you would know that I put up my skin care routine once a week on a Sunday around 6 pm. I will show you what I use to wash, cleanse and moisturize as well as which mask I am currently using. I have been trying a few from Clicks (@clicks_sa) and out of the ones I have tried, I totally fell in love with the Chocolate Mud Mask.
At face value, you would think It’s just another cheap mask – nothing to it. Well, it is cheap…it is affordable. It retails for R24.95 in Clicks. The packaging is minimal but gives you enough information to decide on whether to make a purchase or not.
Unlike the bulk of liquid masks, this one is not runny. It was my first time using a mask, so I used my fingers to apply it and I’m glad to say I didn’t find it messy at all. It’s a thick-ish consistency and does not take too long to dry. The chocolate scent almost had me trying to lick around my lips a couple of times. I am glad to say, I overcame the temptation though. It smells oooooh so divine – this could be the main reason why I love it so much, I am a sucker for divine scents.
After application, I let it dry for 15 minutes. I know you are generally supposed to lay down on your back and relax, pretend like nothing in the world is bothering you ha ha. I can never just chill, I feel like I’m wasting time if I do. I was all over the place trying to lay out my outfits for the following working week. Nevertheless, it dried on well, pulling my skin towards the center of my face. I swear it took away about a year off my face 🙂
As this mask dries, it pulls your skin together and it develops some cracks showing the job is done. Normally with a number of products you can only start noticing a change after the third use of the product but after washing this off with warm water, I instantly felt the difference between when I washed my face preparing for the mask and now after removing it. My skin felt smoother, softer, rejuvenated, tighter and relaxed.
My only con would be that, I made a big brown mess in the bathroom. I had to spend a few more minutes cleaning out the sink.
I am still trying out different masks but this is my main squeeze! I use it once a week and I try our a different one once a week as well. I still have not used any other more than once because they are either too runny, too thick or too much of something. If you haven’t yet, try this one out and I would love to know what you think of it in the comments below.
If you use a different mask, please share what you use in the comments and I would love to try different ones to see if I will ever find a better one at an affordable price.
